Mayor's Memorial Day Observance at Punchbowl in Hawaii

In observance of Memorial Day, the Department of Defense 60th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee will participate in Honolulu's celebration honoring Veterans.  The event is hosted by the Mayor of Honolulu, Kirk Caldwell.

In observance of Memorial Day, the Department of Defense 60th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee participated in the Mayor's Annual Memorial Day Ceremony by presenting a wreath on behalf of the Committee.  Mayor Kirk Caldwell provided the Memorial Day Address.  The sequence of events included a presentation of over 40 memorial wreaths from various Veteran organizations, posting of the 50 State flags by Junior ROTC cadets, presentation of teh National Colors, invocation, various musical interludes and medlies, 21-rifle salute and concluded with benediction, retiring the colors and a postlude by the Royal Hawaiian Band.  Over 150 people were in attendance.
