Governor's Memorial Day Ceremony at the State Veterans Cemetery in Hawaii

The Department of Defense 60th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee will participate in a ceremony honoring Korean War Veterans at the State Veteran Cemetary in Hawaii on May 27, 2013.

In observance of Memorial Day, the Department of Defense 60th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee (KW60) participated in the Governor's Annual Memorial Day Ceremony by taking part in presenting  the state wreath.  The Honorable Neil Abercromie, Governor, Maj Gen Wong, Adjutant General and COL David J. Clark, Executive Director of KW60 presented the state wreath together.  The Governor provided the Memorial Day Address.  The sequence of events included a parade of flags and presentation of floral leis from various veteran organizations, presentation of national and state colors, the national anthem and other musical interludes by Spanaway Lake High School Choir, musical medlies by the 11th Army Band, posting of colors, invocation, placing of the state and military wreaths, benediction and retiring the colors.  Over 150 people were in attendance.
