Committee Honors Korean War Veterans in Maui

The Department of Defense 60th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee (KW60) honored Korean War Veterans with certificates of appreciation at a ceremony at the University of Hawaii's Maui Paina Dining Facility.  The Maui Korean Community Choir sung the national anthem and Hawai'i Pono'i, veteran messages were provided by Ms. Karey Kapoi, Maui Liaison to U.S. Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard and Ms. Yukilei Sugimura, Maui Liaison to U.S. Senator Mazie Hirono.  The keynote speaker was COL David J. Clark, Executive Director of KW60.  Certificates of appreciation, signed by the Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel, were distributed to approximately 50 Korean War Veterans and family members.
