Committee to Attend Texas KWVA Annual Convention

The Korean War Commemoration Committee will be attending the 2012 Texas State KWVA Annual Convention in San Antonio, TX. Naval Commander John O'Brien will be providing remarks and presenting certificates of appreication signed by the Secretary of Defense to Korean War Veterans in attendance.

The Department of Defense 60th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee (KW60) attended the 2012 Texas State KWVA Annual Convention hosted by the Texas Department of the KWVA in San Antonio, TX.  Naval Commander John O'Brien, a KW60 committee member, provided remarks and presented certificates of appreciation signed by Defense Secretary Leon Panetta to Korean War Veterans in attendance. Other speakers included Governor Rick Perry (via a recorded message);  MG Walter L. Davis, Deputy Commanding General, U.S. Army, North (Fifth Army) Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio; Councilman Cris Medina, City of San Antonio; and Suk Bum Park, Counsel General of the Republic of Korea.   Other honored guests included  USAF (Ret) Brigadier General Dana Simmons, formerly  Commander of the Air Force Special Investigations.
